EFI+ project results

As an EFI+ project result , an example dataset is available, to see the values of the new European Fish Index as well as pressure information for the groups hydrology, morphology, connectivity and water quality and an aggregated total pressure index for 2948 sites across Europe.

Date Date of sampling
Latitude Latitude in decimal degrees, projection WGS 84
Longitude Longitude in decimal degrees, projection WGS 84
Rivername National name of the river
Catchmentname Name of catchment
Distancefromsource Distance from source in kilometres to the sampling site measured along the river
AREActch Area drained by segment (upstream area + primary catchment)
Actualriverslope Slope of streambed along stream expressed as per mill, m/km ()
Wettedwidth Wetted width in metres is normally calculated as the average of several transects across the stream
Fishedarea Area of the section that has been sampled (sampled length * sampled width) given in m2
tempann Mean annual temperature at the site
tempjan Mean january temperature at the site
tempjul Mean july temperature at the site
Watersourcetype The source of the river water
Floodplainsite If the river has a former floodplain: Proportion of connected floodplain still remaining.
Naturalsediment Naturally dominant sediment information
Geomorphrivertype Geomorphological river type before any major human control of river bed
Method Definition, how electric fishing was carried out
Riverzone Indicating if site is a Salmonid river type site or a Cyprinid river type site
ObsHINTOL150 Observed density of individuals with length = 150 mm that belong to species intolerant to habitat degradation
ObsO2INTOL Observed density of oxygen depletion intolerant species
ObsRHPAR Observed richness in number of species of rheophilic reproduction habitat species
